Zhang Ziyi will be a significant part of the new cinematic universe known as the MonsterVerse. Now, that’s not to be confused with Universal’s Dark Universe—also about monsters—which is getting off to an underwhelming start this weekend with The Mummy. Rather it’s the Warner Bros. and Legendary’s franchise centered on Godzilla and King Kong that contains, well, Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star is first lined up to be in 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters along with Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler. Zhang will all but definitely be one of the survivors of the oversized lizard’s wrath, however, because she’s set to be in more movies. She’s playing a “a key figure in the covert, creature-cataloging Monarch organization.” Every universe must have its S.H.I.E.L.D. equivalent, after all.
