StarTalk returns to National Geographic on September 19 for a third season of Neil deGrasse Tyson chatting with various luminaries—both in and outside of the field of science—about everything from Star Trek to science education to medical marijuana. Whoopi Goldberg will actually lead the discussion on that last topic in the season three premiere. The View host is, after all, a staunch advocate of cannabis, and even runs a medical-marijuana company called Om Edibles. The A.V. Club has an exclusive clip of Tyson and Goldberg hashing out the particulars of the criminalization of the drug, which leads all the way back to Richard Nixon (it figures).

Here are just some of the many guests Tyson will host on the show this season: Buzz Aldrin, Mayim Bialik, Terry Crews, Brian Greene, Herbie Hancock, Robert Kirkman, Christopher Lloyd, Michelle Gomez, Bill Maher, Jill Tarter, and The Martian author Andy Weir (probably to complain about the science of that book/movie).

And if you can’t get enough Tyson and/or cosmos-related conversation, a companion book to the TV show and its popular podcast progenitor will be out on September 13. StarTalk: Everything You Ever Need To Know About Space Travel, Sci-Fi, The Human Race, The Universe, And Beyond is divided into four entertaining and informative sections, and is already available for preorder.
