It takes a leap of faith—or just plain ol’ guts—to leave a potential career as a new degree-holder in architecture in order to hit the road as a solo musician. But that’s what singer-songwriter Caroline Rose has done. That journey is reflected, albeit lightheartedly, in the video for Rose’s new song, “I Will Not Be Afraid.” The title track from her upcoming album, the tune is twangy, rootsy, and as unapologetically upbeat as its name. And the video doesn’t pull any punches in the happiness department; comprising a mock audition for American Idol, it’s basically an opportunity for Rose to goof off, dance silly, and show how little fear she truly seems to have.

I Will Not Be Afraid will be released August 19 via Little Hi! Records/Thirty Tigers.
