Life can be very difficult for the monosyllabic and inarticulate members of pop culture. In the latest video by Brotherhood Workshop, the most famous of inexpressive characters share a drink and commiserate over their partners’ failure to understand the depths of anguish they feel. Oh, and it takes place in the Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars. And it’s all told in Lego.
Brotherhood Workshop makes short films using Legos to recreate the look of famous scenes from various works (Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter, er…the Non-Stop trailer) while also lampooning those same creations. The newest addition finds Chewbacca, Hodor from Game Of Thrones, and Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Groot discussing a pain all three know all too well: the lack of understanding from their fellow adventurers. While their talk may appear plain at first, with the proper subtitles, it’s clear that each possesses a keen intellect and deep soul that can be just as hurt by those refusing to parse out their limited vocabulary. Except for Groot—he just wants a snack.
While the brothers use mostly pre-existing Lego sets, they still exhibit impressive amounts of work on their stop-motion creations, including depth of field and expressive lighting, and generally find ways to perfectly replicate the works they are creating. Much like the threesome of Tonto, Tarzan, and Frankenstein before them, the world may never truly understand this trio, but at least they have each other. And their incredibly lucrative franchises.
