Colony

Colony, USA’s experiment in catching Mr. Robot-esque “thoughtful sci-fi” lightning in a handsome, Josh Holloway-shaped bottle, is apparently working out pretty well: just three episodes into its freshman season, the alien dystopia has already been renewed for a second. Starring Holloway and former Walking Dead star Sarah Wayne Collins as parents searching for their son in the aftermath of an alien takeover of Earth, the series is the latest from Holloway’s old Lost collaborator Carlton Cuse, whose other recent TV work includes The Strain and The Returned.

Although its live ratings are apparently only mediocre, the show is doing well in “time-shifted” viewing, a phrase we now kind of wish referred to “taking place in a dark, alien-infested future, where semi-heroic Resistance fighters battle their Quisling oppressors” and not, “waiting to watch until you’ve already burned your way through your backlog of Suits episodes.” Anyway, Colony’s fourth episode (of ten, for now) debuts this Sunday, or whenever you get sick of looking at Patrick J. Adams’ handsome lawyer face.
