With the 87th Academy Awards nominations set to be announced tomorrow, as per tradition, the 35th annual Golden Raspberry Awards nominations have been announced today. The shadowy, evil twin to the Oscars, the Razzies celebrate the “Worst Achievements in Film,” though this year also includes the rare hint of optimism with the addition of the “Razzie Redeemer,” which acknowledges previous Razzie nominees or winners who have gone on to produce work that isn’t awful.

A yardstick for measuring what we’re getting sick of, or never cared for in the first place, the Razzies offer, if not a perfect encapsulation of the year in film, than at least the year’s attitudes toward film. A glance at 2014’s nominees reveal that we’re way more sick of Kelsey Grammer than Adam Sandler (for now), that religious films have put Nicolas Cage and Kirk Cameron on equal footing, and that somebody actually sat through Atlas Shrugged 3: Who Is John Galt?
