It’s looking like Spider-Man is going to team up with Star War’s Rey in an attempt to make a YA franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Holland is in talks to star in the dystopian Chaos Walking alongside Daisy Ridley. The film is being adapted from Patrick Ness’ series of novels about a world in which women have supposedly been eradicated. Holland would play a young man who discovers that’s not the case when he encounters Ridley’s character.

With the Divergent series headed toward an ignominious end on television, it does seem like the post-apocalyptic YA trend has run its course. However, Holland and Ridley are an intriguing pair, if for no other reason than they are ridiculously appealing celebrities. Spider-Man: Homecoming hasn’t come out yet, but Holland’s already made it clear he’s got charm in spades. The fact that Charlie Kaufman has taken a stab at the screenplay for Chaos Walking, which is set to be directed by Doug Liman, has also piqued our interest.
