It’s only been a few weeks since Radiohead updated its weird music visualization app PolyFauna with some new content, and now it looks like frontman Thom Yorke might be up to something new as well. Or maybe it’s not new. Or maybe he’s not up to anything at all. We really have no idea. What we do know is that Yorke tweeted a link to a Tumblr post yesterday that features a suspicious picture of a vinyl record. As we mentioned in that earlier Newswire, Yorke is a fan of posting unexplained photos on Twitter, but what makes this one extra suspicious is the fact that Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich also tweeted the same photo later that day. So that means it’s probably something, but we still don’t know what. Radiohead is just now getting started on its next album, so it’s probably not that, but Consequence Of Sound theorizes that it’s new solo music from Yorke or part of his Atoms For Peace side project. Our guess, though, is that it’s related to the music from the PolyFauna app. The weird lines on the record do seem reminiscent of one of Yorke’s recent tweets, after all, and it seems unlikely that new music would be getting pressed on vinyl before anyone even knows it exists. Of course, this is something Radiohead-adjacent we’re talking about, so we probably won’t have any idea what’s going on until someone tells us.
