The new adaptation of Mrs. Frisby And The Rats Of NIMH, that classic piece of children’s literature about animal experimentation, has settled on a human to lead its intelligent lab rodents, according to Variety. The publication reports that James Madigan will make his directorial debut helming the film, which is being called simply The Rats Of NIMH. Madigan is a veteran of visual effects departments, having clocked time on Iron Man 2. He also has served as second unit director on projects.
This new take on Robert C. O’Brien’s book will combine live action and animation. Ice Age 5’s Michael Berg is writing the project, which may be the start of a franchise if all goes as MGM planned.
