Terrence Malick, no stranger to existential stories and messing with your perception of reality, has officially secured financing for Voyage Of Time, the documentary he’s been working on for years now. IMAX, Broad Green Pictures, Sophisticated Films, and Wild Bunch are all backing the film, which will be released in a 40-minute IMAX cut narrated by Tree Of Life star Brad Pitt, as well as a separate, 35mm, feature-length version narrated by Malick’s Knight Of Cups star, Cate Blanchett.

No word on a release date for Voyage Of Time yet, and all that’s really known about it thus far is that it’s a “celebration of the universe, displaying the whole of time, from its start to its final collapse.” Given that there’s also no official runtime for the Blanchett-narrated version, we’re not ruling out a 13.8 billion-year epic. (On the other hand, a one-second cut would be just as daring.) Regardless, you just know Neil deGrasse Tyson will be all over this movie the second it comes out.
