Netflix has definitely had an off-season, as the recent cancellations of The Get Down, Girlboss, Sense8, Marco Polo, and Bloodline would indicate. Now Variety reports that Netflix will throw another failed log onto its blazing cancellation fire with the axing of Gypsy after a single 10-episode season.

As noted here, the series was a meandering, pointless wannabe psychosexual drama in which Naomi Watts’ therapist Jean went rogue and started infiltrating her clients’ lives for no reason anyone could figure out. Those who actually made it to the end of the season looking for answers were left unsatisfied, and now with Gypsy at an end, will remain that way. Might we recommend Netflix’s much more successful and satisfying GLOW? It just got renewed for a second season, making it one of the streaming service’s brightest 2017 spots so far.
