The Good Wife

Aside from all of the football highlights, the Super Bowl yields plenty of other entertainment, including trailers to whet your appetite for this spring and summer’s blockbusters. But there was one somber note amidst all the Broncos- and Beyoncé-related revelry: CBS confirmed in an ad that The Good Wife will bow out at the end of season seven. The first of the last nine episodes will air on February 14, and TV Club will of course be there until the very end.

The news is hardly surprising, as creators Robert and Michelle King previously indicated that their storytelling would conclude in the seventh season, while CBS announced during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour that the Kings would be exiting the show. Still, it’s bittersweet to watch Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) walk into the lion’s den one last time in this 20-second TV spot.
