Saw director working on horror movie about November 11, 2011

Director Darren Lynn Bousman (several Saw movies, Repo: The Genetic Opera) will next tackle the high-concept horror film 11 11 11, which will wring scares out of the metaphysically significant date of November 11, 2011—also the film’s intended premiere date. Bousman’s version will “take on the idea of 11 gates of Heaven and how on 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month, the 11th gate will open up and something from another world will enter the earthly realm for 49 minutes.” So basically it’s Howard The Duck, only scarier.

You say you were unaware of the metaphysical significance of November 11, 2011? Allow some garishly colored websites and droning YouTube videos to educate you—or better yet, we’ll just sum it up, since that’s what we’re best at. In short, some people believe that the time “11:11” on the clock represents a “master number activation sequence” that “acts like a doorway, a gateway or a portal into the higher realms of manifestation.” Others interpret the number as a sign that “alerts them to angels or spirit guardians trying to communicate with them.” A few end-time theorists like to talk about Revelation 11:11, in which the “two witnesses” to Armageddon are resurrected from the dead. The more conspiracy-minded also see a historical significance in the fact that Armistice Day is November 11, and that World War I ended “on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month”—which obviously means that World War 3 will most likely break out on November 11, 2011, just because.

For anyone who sees this evidence and remains skeptical, consider that the last 11/11/11—November 11, 1911—was the day of the one of the worst-ever cold snaps, The Great Blue Norther Of 11/11/11, a day that saw extreme high temperatures followed by extreme lows, along with blizzards and tornadoes. In short, we’re all gonna die, and the last thing you’ll see will be a horror film from the Saw guy.
