Dr. Dre, who's already worked on music for films and directed music videos before, has signed on as a producer with New Line, Variety reports. Though he'll still have an eye toward the music side, the story says he also wants to work on dark comedies and possibly horror films. And, on top of a film career already stocked with masterpieces, LL Cool J will star in The Man, a crime-drama pilot for CBS, according to Hollywood Reporter. It's written by one of the CSI writers and centers on an undercover cop in Los Angeles. So next time you contemplate how TV is even more crawling with cops than it used to be, thank hip hop.
