Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood will score Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming adaptation of the Thomas Pynchon novel Inherent Vice, according to the excellent Anderson fansite Cigarettes & Red Vines. This should come as no surprise, since Greenwood also provided the harrowing music for Anderson's last two features, There Will Be Blood and The Master. The fact that Greenwood will reportedly record with the London Philharmonic this month is a good indicator that the film could be on track to hit theaters this year—a nice quickening of pace for Anderson, who waited almost five years between his last two. The film will star Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Reese Witherspoon, Maya Rudolph, Michael K. Williams, and more. Oh, and hell yeah: Martin Short.
