According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount and Bad Robot’s supernatural WWII movie Overlord is now set to be released on October 26, 2018. Details about the movie are relatively slim, but we do know that it’s being directed by Son Of A Gun’s Julius Avery, and it will concern a pair of American soldiers (played by Wyatt Russell and Jovan Adepo) who drop into a Nazi-occupied village and then “realize that they are a part of something bigger than a simple military operation.” Also, we know that the “something bigger” involves supernatural experiments, which means Overlord could include some Nazi zombies.
As we noted back in February, though, there might be more going on with Overlord than just Nazi zombies. After all, it’s a Bad Robot movie with a supernatural angle, so it’s an excellent candidate for inclusion in the ever-expanding Cloverfield universe. Back in December, Bad Robot announced that the previously announced film The God Particle would be folded into the Cloverfield series, so it stands to reason that other films from the studio will get the same treatment.
Whether it’s a Cloverfield movie or not, Overlord will be in theaters next October.
