Palmer Luckey, the wunderkind founder and recently ousted CEO of Oculus VR, has been completely out of the public eye since outing himself as the “money man” behind an anti-Hillary Clinton meme campaign last year. But a recent trip to Japan has spurred his return to social media and, apparently, cosplay.
Yep, there’s Luckey—who later noted he’s been “secretly cosplaying for years”—dressed up as Quiet, the scantily-clad sniper from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The game’s director, Hideo Kojima, famously said he hoped her “erotic” look would encourage more people to cosplay as Quiet, but you have to wonder how Kojima, who created a game that’s entirely about how easy it is spread misinformation in the internet age, would feel about a proud financial supporter of pro-Trump “meme magic” taking on one of his characters.
