Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund will team up again for Disney’s follow-up to 2010’s Tron: Legacy, Tron 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Joseph Kosinski will also return as director for the sequel, with Justin Springer set to produce. Hedlund will reprise his Legacy role as Sam Flynn, the son of the Grid-architect Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), and Wilde will reprise her role as Quorra, a.k.a. “The Miracle.”
Although Legacy wasn’t embraced by superfans of the original cult hit from 1982, the sequel grossed $400 million worldwide, which is more than enough to convince Disney that a third installment is in order. Plot details for Tron 3 remain under wraps, but the project is looking to start shooting this fall in Vancouver.
