Although she’s still circling a Charlie’s Angels reboot and helming a YA adaptation, Elizabeth Banks has just aca-mmitted to directing Pitch Perfect 3. That comes from Variety, which reports that Banks has signed on to direct the third installment of The Tale Of The Bellas. Banks starred in, directed, and produced Pitch Perfect 2, which brought in over $180 million domestically (and was a good time for all), so she’s more than qualified to handle the next chapter in the increasingly popular franchise.
Pitch Perfect 3 will reunite much of the cast and crew of the previous films, with breakout stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson reprising their roles. Brittany Snow and Hailee Steinfeld will also be back to make songs with their mouths, with a script from Kay Cannon, who also wrote the first two movies. Pitch Perfect 3 has already been scheduled to premiere on August 4, 2017, which should give Banks just enough time to recover from the all the Mockingjay fuss.
