Alas, Thor will ditch his new earthling pal, Darryl, the co-star of the short mockumentaries about the Asgardian’s life in between blockbusters, for his space adventures in Ragnarok. That’s probably best for Darryl (Daley Pearson) given that Thor was something of a thorn in his side, but bad news for those of us who enjoyed the odd-couple pairing of Avenger and normal dude. Chris Hemsworth himself reportedly confirmed this news at Australia’s Supanova Comic-Con, and it comes to us via CBR.com.

When we asked director Taika Waititi back in February whether Darryl will show up, he said: “The short answer? No.” While Waititi noted that he would have liked to find a way for Darryl to be present it didn’t work out. At the time, he tried to keep hope a little bit alive, but alas it seems there was ultimately no room for Darryl. “It just didn’t happen, yet,” he said. “I mean, we’re far from finished.” He added: “When we were shooting, I just couldn’t figure anything out that would be really smart.” Waititi himself will, however, have a role; he’ll be playing the Kronan Korg.
