Nicki Minaj disses off-brand Muppet rappers in her "Barbie Dreams" video

Here at The A.V. Club, we’ve been known to appreciate The Muppets on a deeper level than most people, and for whatever reason, Nicki Minaj has decided to target her latest music video directly at diehard Muppet fans like us. The video is for Minaj’s playful, shotgun blast of a diss track “Barbie Dreams,” which sees her roasting pretty much everybody she’s ever worked with in the music industry (but in, like, a fun way), and the clip follows the song’s tongue-in-cheek nature by replacing all of the rappers who get dissed by Minaj with Muppets—not official Muppets, of course, but they’re clearly going for a Muppet vibe. The video even starts with not-Kermit introducing Minaj in a way that should be very familiar to anyone who ever watched The Muppet Show.

This video probably won’t be a major factor in the ongoing feud between Minaj and Cardi B, but Cardi will have to do something if she wants to keep all of the Muppet fans from pledging their support for Minaj.
