According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nick Jonas has joined the cast of Chaos Walking, an adaptation of Patrick Ness’ post-apocalyptic sci-fi YA books. The story is about people colonizing a planet where nearly all of the women have been killed off and the rest of the living things suffer from some kind of telepathic virus called The Noise. Jonas will be playing a soldier who is jealous that his father, Mads Mikkelsen (the film’s villain), has chosen to mentor the film’s hero instead of him. Said hero will be played by Tom Holland, who eventually discovers that a girl, played by Daisy Ridley, is somehow the key to saving the world.

Doug Liman is directing the film, with John Lee Hancock, Gary Spinelli, Lindsey Beer, Ness himself, and Charlie Kaufman contributing to the script.
