New Mutants director Josh Boone teases Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane

We’ve known for almost a year that Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams would be appearing in director Josh Boone’s X-Men spin-off New Mutants, even though Fox hasn’t really announced very many concrete details about the film. But if Fox is trying to keep things under wraps, Boone isn’t being quite so careful. As reported by /Film, Boone tweeted a piece of fan art this weekend that shows Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, a mutant who can turn into a wolf. He even tagged Williams’ account to make it as clear as possible:

It seems safe to assume that Williams is definitely playing Wolfsbane in the New Mutants movie, then, so maybe Boone intends for this fan art to give us some kind of glimpse into what Williams’ character will be like in the film—which is to say that she’ll look like Maisie Williams, but with more hair and a stronger tendency to leap through the air and snarl. Production on the film is supposed to start pretty soon, so hopefully we’ll get more information than this before too long.
