Writer-director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is finally helming a new movie, according to Variety. Inarritu's last film, 2006's Babel, was his final collaboration with co-writer Guillermo Arriaga; the two apparently split acrimoniously after co-writing some great ones, particularly the incredible Amores Perros. The new movie, Biutiful will begin filming shortly in Spain; it stars Javier Bardem and, again according to Variety "is about a man embroiled in shady dealings who is confronted by a childhood friend, now a policeman." Here's a link. Now go rent Amores Perros, unless you really, really love puppies.
