In news that must be making Girlboss and Sense8 feel really rejected right now, Netflix announced today that it’s renewing its freshman comedy series Friends From College, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Netflix doesn’t release ratings for its original series, so how Friends From College performed on the streaming platform is anyone’s guess. But it’s earned the scorn of critics, and currently sits at a 24 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The A.V. Club’s Erik Adams wasn’t a fan, writing that “the fond memories of the cast’s past work wind up being a lot like the fond memories shared by their characters. Those things are in the past, and that magic isn’t going to be recaptured here.”
If that sounds appealing to you, Friends From College returns to Netflix for a second eight-episode season next year.
