Girlboss

Netflix is still sticking with its renewed commitment to cancelling stuff, and just a few weeks after giving Sense8 and The Get Down the proverbial axe, it has decided to cut one-season comedy series Girlboss as well. This comes from Deadline, which notes that the show was “poorly reviewed” and had a main character that “was not very likable,” so Deadline is implying that the show probably wasn’t very popular with Netflix users. (The streaming service doesn’t release viewership numbers, so there’s no real way to know for sure, though.)

Girlboss was based on Sophia Amoruso’s autobiography, and it starred Britt Robertson as a fictionalized version of Amoruso as she transforms from a “rebellious, broke anarchist” to, well, a girl who is the boss. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Amoruso seemed surprisingly happy about about the news, saying, “while I’m proud of the work we did, I’m looking forward to controlling my narrative from here on out.” She also added that living “as a caricature” was difficult to do “even if only for two months.”
