For now, you have to be a music fan living in Europe in order to enjoy the online streaming music site Spotify. But that should be changing soon, according to Billboard, which reports that Spotify went live today with a launch page promising to offer its services in the U.S. “soon,” and soliciting email addresses for membership invitations. Specific information, including a launch date and pricing, is not yet available.

Spotify boasts that users have access to “millions of songs” at no cost, though paid “premium” members can play music without ads, with higher bitrates, and on their mobile devices.

According to Billboard “sources,” Spotify could be available as early as Friday, though a launch next week appears more likely.
