MTV throwing a telethon to help rebuild hurricane-ravaged Snooki incubator Jersey Shore

MTV is throwing a telethon to help the Hurricane Sandy-ravaged Jersey Shore, a region it first called the nation’s horrified attention to with its show, the aptly-titled Jersey Shore. The one hour Restore The Shore will air Thursday, Nov. 15 at 11 p.m. Eastern, right after a synergistic new episode of Jersey Shore. Cast members from the show will be present at the live taping, as well as guests to be named later.

All funds raised will go to rebuild the Seaside Heights boardwalk and to support troubled local businesses like the Shore Store, where the cast ostensibly “works.” MTV says it will offer both online and mobile-based tools for donations, probably because its viewers, like, totally don’t make phone calls anymore.
