Over the past month, Modern Baseball has been on a European tour sans one of the band’s founding members. Back in January, guitarist-vocalist Brendan Lukens announced on the band’s Facebook page that he wouldn’t be touring with the band, citing “mental and physical health reasons” as to why he wouldn’t be out on the road. Today, Lukens’ counterpart Jake Ewald announced that the band will be canceling all of its upcoming tour dates and festival appearances, and that the band will be taking a break. The text from Ewald’s Facebook post can be found below, where he cites the band’s growing stature as a source of anxiety for the members of the band. “The project we started as a source of joy and positive expression had become something that was slowly eating away at our mental health and our friendships,” he says.
