Believing that it might be worth getting one of those fun Oscar nominations for, Meryl Streep has reportedly entered talks for a role in Disney’s Mary Poppins sequel—which is still called Mary Poppins Returns, even though that’s a little silly. This comes from Variety, which says Streep would be playing Mary Poppins’ cousin Topsy, a character who Julie Andrews’ Poppins never felt the need to mention in the original film even though she’s apparently important enough to be played by Meryl freakin’ Streep. Variety notes that Streep will sing in the film if they reach a deal, and it’ll also reunite her with Into The Woods’ Rob Marshall and Emily Blunt, who are directing and starring in Returns (respectively).

Mary Poppins Returns will be set years after the original film, with grown-up Jane and Michael Banks once again running into Mary Poppins after “a personal loss.” In addition to Blunt, the film will also star Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda, who will assist Poppins as she uses her magical powers to help the Banks family “rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives.”

Barring the release of a surprise Star Wars sequel, Mary Poppins Returns will be in theaters on December 25, 2018.
