CBS’s adaptation of the Bradley Cooper film Limitless is no longer in the hands of the property’s original director. Neil Burger, who helmed the 2011 film, was attached to direct the pilot, but he’s pulled out now due to a scheduling conflict with the Showtime drama pilot Billions—opting to forsake a story about limitless intellect in favor of one about limitless money, like a good capitalist. Burger will remain an executive producer on the pilot, alongside Cooper, Alex Kurtzman, and Robert Orci.

Deadline reports that Marc Webb will direct the Limitless pilot instead. Webb is coming off The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which was certainly limitless in its use of warring tones and storylines. Recently, Webb also employed his (500) Days Of Summer skill set to direct the Showtime musical-comedy pilot Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, so don’t judge him by Spider-Man’s Rhino-pantsing scene alone.
