Louis CK, thinking about how much he hates Kansas City, or one of the many other things he hates (Photo: Team GT / Getty Images)

Louis CK announced a whole spate of new live stand-up performances today via email. Seventeen cities are listed in this initial announcement, but he promises that more dates will be added. He also wanted to let fans know that if they don’t see a particular city on the list, it has nothing to do with his feelings for the city, as he regularly performs in cities that he hates. “For instance, I played in Kansas City this summer. And I had a great time there. And boy do I hate Kansas City,” CK explained. “I hate Kansas City so much, that I had to go to a doctor to ‘have that looked at.’ Luckily, the doctor assured me that I am very healthy and that, indeed, Kansas City is an astonishing dump.”

Tickets will be available for an average of $50, which the 49-year-old comedian acknowledges as being “not nothing. But it’s less than more than that.” The A.V. Club has looked into this claim, and can conform its veracity.
