April Bloomfield is a chef among chefs—her snout-to-tail approach to cooking has been hugely influential to her fellow cooks, and her restaurant in Manhattan’s West Village, The Spotted Pig, is beloved by casual diners and epicureans alike (her chargrilled burger arguably propelled the gourmet burger movement of the last decade). But with her forthcoming Los Angeles restaurant, The Hearth & Hound, Bloomfield’s celebrity may be overshadowed by a bigger name: a Beastie Boy.

A preview with Bloomberg Pursuits reveals that Mike Diamond, the former Mike D from the sadly former Beastie Boys, will help develop the wine program for the Hollywood restaurant, scheduled to open in September. Diamond is an avid oenophile and wine collector, and told Bloomberg of bottles to expect: “It’s going to be a fun list. We are putting together a wine program that will get customers tasting things they might not taste.”

Though the restaurant will feature live turntables as part of its soundtrack, Diamond said he doesn’t expect to spinning records: “Playing records is fun,” he told Bloomberg. “DJing with turntables when people are eating; I don’t know if that would be fun for anybody.” As for Bloomfield’s food, the restaurant will feature a hearth for live fire cooking, and place greater emphasis—as expected of all California restaurants—on seasonal produce. There will be no burgers on this menu. As she told Eater NY: “I’ve gotten burgers out of my system.”
