Maggots is the follow-up to Chippendale's 2006 comics debut Ninja, only it's even bigger and crazier: Drawn on the pages of a Japanese catalog–remnants of which poke through all the positive space of Chippendale's sketchy, manic scribbles–the 350-page book is short on words, totally eye-watering, and confusingly beautiful. Kinda like Lightning Bolt's music.
