You know how it is: it’s late on a work day, you’re running behind, and you realize you haven’t made a video juxtaposing your preferred (or loathed) political candidate with a funny bit of pop culture detritus today. (And we all know how bad that’ll look on your next performance review.) Luckily, the mash-up wizards at Coub have got you covered. They’ve put together a diabolical little site to machine-generate easy videos, allowing users to lampoon Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton without even the bare minimum of thought that meme-generation normally represents.
It works like this: Hit the button for Trump or Clinton, and Coub randomly grabs a clip of them talking about walls or greatness or the relative sizes of their hands. Then it pairs it with a random moment from SpongeBob or Adventure Time or The Show Where People Play Sad Trombones. Then you hit the button again. Then you hit it again, and wonder where your day has gone. Then it pumps out a video of Professor Farnsworth from Futurama laughing at Trump talking about all his money, you realize this whole process is kind of weirdly soothing, and the cosmic ballet goes on.
