The Good, The Bad, The Weird

As reported by Deadline, South Korean actor Lee Byung-hun has joined Antoine Fuqua’s remake of The Magnificent Seven. Lee is probably best known in the U.S. for playing Storm Shadow in the live-action G.I. Joe movies, but in a few months he’ll probably be better known for playing the new T-1000 in Terminator Genesys. His character in The Magnificent Seven will be someone named Billy Rocks who, presumably, rocks. This won’t be Lee’s first time donning the proverbial cowboy hat; he co-starred in Kim Jee-woon’s “Kimchi WesternThe Good, The Bad, The Weird in 2008.

Lee will be joining Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Chris Pratt, Luke Grimes, Wagner Moura, and Vincent D’Onofrio in the Western, and—according to The Hollywood Reporter—Jason Momoa might show up as well. The former Khal Drogo is reportedly in negotiations to join the movie as one of the big bad’s “heavies,” though the role of the villain hasn’t been cast yet. At the risk of telling MGM and Sony how to do their jobs, may we recommend Jason Momoa? He seems like a pretty bad dude.
