Last night’s Grammy Awards featured special tributes to George Michael and Prince, but everyone in the music industry who died in 2016 and didn’t quite rank as high as those two icons was honored with a traditional In Memoriam segment that was introduced by John Legend and Cynthia Erivo performing a cover of the Beach Boys’ “God Only Knows.” The Grammys being a music-based event, though, the segment included clips from songs that the deceased had worked on, which meant Legend and Erivo only played a small chuck of “God Only Knows” at the show.

Today, as reported by Pitchfork, Legend and Erivo have released a full studio recording of “God Only Knows,” and you can hear it below without being interrupted by tragic reminders of how precious and fleeting life is.
