It’s been 19 years since Jerry Seinfeld filmed an official comedy special, a time span that’s included some pretty seismic shifts in the comedy world. You wouldn’t know that from the clips Netflix has released for his new special, Jerry Before Seinfeld, though, which sees the legendary comic deliberately looking backward, returning to his old stomping grounds at New York’s Comic Strip, and digging material out of some of his oldest joke notebooks for a walk down observational memory lane.
