Over the holiday weekend, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jennifer Lopez teased their new anthem, the proceeds of which will benefit the Hispanic Federation’s Proyecto Somos Orlando. The song, titled “Love Make The World Go Round,” features the Hamilton star/creator rapping, while Lopez reliably provides the hook. In a preview video, Miranda delivers the lyrics: “We sing out, we got the rhythm and the truth on our side / We cut through the divide and we do it with pride.”
Proyecto Somos Orlando “will address the long-term needs for mental health services that are culturally competent and bilingual” following the Pulse nightclub shooting that left 49 dead. The Hispanic Federation’s website notes 95 percent of the victims were Latino. “Love Make The World Go Round” will be available on iTunes.
Miranda also participated in the Broadway For Orlando cover of “What the World Needs Now is Love,” which benefits the LGBT Center of Central Florida.
