In the current glut of Frankenstein projects rushing to be the first to make it into production, and thus take advantage of the droves of ravenous fans clamoring for multiple new adaptations of Mary Shelley’s classic novel, Max Landis’ script inches closer to the finish line. James McAvoy is in negotiations for the role of Victor Von Frankenstein, after beating out Boardwalk Empire’s Jack Huston—who must’ve really hurt his mysterious vibe with those convivial beer commercials— and Toby Kebbel. McAvoy joins the previously announced Daniel Radcliffe, who is attempting to further shake off his Harry Potter trappings by starring as Igor. Push and Lucky Number Slevin director Paul McGuigan is slated to direct.
