Ryan Fleck and Ann Boden—who previously turned Ryan Gosling into a freebasing high-school history teacher in Half Nelson—will do the same for similarly fresh-faced, Hollywood handsome guy Jake Gyllenhaal in their latest. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gyllenhaal is attached to play a young gambler in the duo's Mississippi Grind, teaming with an older, down-and-out punter for some depressing, double-or-nothing hijinks. So, it's kind of like Robert Altman’s California Split, except without Elliott Gould and George Segal, and with less splitting and more grinding. Also, it’s probably set in Mississippi instead of California.
