AMC’s Preacher adaptation is set to air later this year, and the teasers have prominently featured the sermonizing and ass-kicking that are integral to Jesse Custer’s (Dominic Cooper) character. Although it seemed that the villains had taken a backseat to our heroes, which include Tulip the hitwoman (Ruth Negga) and Cassidy the vampire (Joseph Gilgun), we finally have some casting news for one of Jesse’s many twisted foes. Jackie Earle Haley, who’s no stranger to comic-book adaptations, has just signed on to play Odin Quincannon, the slaughterhouse scion who’s just a little too fond of his meat. In the comics, Odin basically runs the small town of Salvation, where he squares off against Jesse, who’s literally the new sheriff in town. But Haley’s six-episode arc will see the action moved to Jesse’s hometown of Annville, Texas where, as the town’s biggest employer, Odin has a different chokehold on its citizens.
