The CW has released the first look at Grant Gustin in the Flash costume that will help him resist supersonic speeds, as well as all future attempts to identify him as “Glee’s Grant Gustin.” Here you see his Barry Allen character wearing what seems to be a fairly traditional take on the DC superhero from Arrow’s Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and David Nutter, what with the lightning-bolt insignia and red(dish) color and everything, albeit with two notable updates: Like most modern superheroes, the discipline daddies of the streets, the new Flash prefers the feel of leather. And, unlike many previous incarnations, this Flash has a chin guard, after someone finally realized that tripping at super-speed would give you one hell of a scrape. Anyway, the pilot is still in production, meaning you’ll have to wait to see whether the new Flash’s uniform stops right around his abs.
