October is indisputably the best month, and Netflix will honor the season’s gusty winds, costumed loons, and crunchy leaves with a voluminous slate of chilling original programming and additions. If you’re looking to scare yourself stupid—and you should be—the streaming platform has you covered with Gareth Edwards’ Apostle and Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Hill House series, as well as its surprisingly freaky-looking Sabrina reboot with Kiernan Shipka and, *shudder*, a new comedy special from alpha male podcaster Joe Rogan. If it’s true crime that sets your spine-a-tinglin’, be sure to tune into the return of Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos’ attention-grabbing Making a Murderer series.

Of course, not everything hitting Netflix is there to scare you. Adam Sandler and Ron White have comedy specials dropping, and former Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj will see the debut of his Patriot Act talk show. Animated series Big Mouth gets a second season, and Vincent D’Onofrio will swagger back into our lives on the third season of Marvel’s Daredevil. Meanwhile, the reliably brilliant Maggie Gyllenhaal will get existential in festival favorite The Kindergarten Teacher, while Paul Greengrass aims to shatter your soul with 22 July, his new film about the 2011 Norway attacks.

Be sure to catch The Babadook before Netflix erases it from queues in mid-October. The same goes for spookers like The Lost Boys, V/H/S 2, and Donnie Darko, which are also leaving the platform alongside The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence (that one you can skip). Also, the lone, brilliant season of Freaks and Geeks will also be leaving, so get your fill of Carlos the Dwarf before he’s gone.
