In addition to prepping to take over Late Night when Jimmy Fallon moves to The Tonight Show, Seth Meyers also co-created the animated series The Awesomes, which bounced around from SyFy to MTV before landing a 10-episode first season on Hulu. The show has been rolling out over the end of the summer and into the fall, accompanied by a theme song performed by The Hold Steady. Now Hulu has produced a short music video featuring the band playing the minute-long theme as characters from The Awesomes bleed over into the real world. There’s also a short behind-the-scenes video featuring interviews with Meyers, co-creator Mike Shoemaker, and The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn and Tad Kubler on how the collaboration came about.
