In news that prompted mixed reactions here at A.V. Club HQ, Variety has confirmed reports that HBO has renewed Bill Hader’s melancholy hitman dramedy Barry for a second season, and Mike Judge’s long-running, newly T.J. Miller-free tech-world satire Silicon Valley for a sixth. The reactions weren’t completely split along show lines, either; while everyone who’s watched it likes Barry, there are still some Silicon Valley fans among us, as well. You can read our coverage of both shows if you care to puzzle that out in more detail.

Anyway, that’s about all we’ve got on that front for now. Look out for new seasons of Barry and Silicon Valley...probably sometime next year?
