In news that proves HBO is not reading The A.V. Club closely enough, the pay channel has canceled Looking, its show about a group of gay men living in San Francisco. But, as a balm on the hurt feelings of Looking fans, Variety reports that the network has also decided to film a special of undetermined length to end the show. The lack of closure in the series’ season two finale, which aired March 22, likely contributed to HBO’s decision to create one last installment to wrap up the story. And while there’s no word on when that finale will be filmed, much less air, we can probably assume that at some point the Duplass brothers will come along and wedge themselves in between Girls and the Looking special, as the Duplassi are wont to do.
