Following its world premiere at Sundance this past weekend, HBO has officially purchased the US television rights for Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer. The documentary from the director/producer team of Mike Lerner and Maxim Pozdorovkin details the Russian band's trial and first five months of the two-year incarceration in two of the country's most grueling prison camps, which its members received after staging a musical demonstration against Putin and his "exploitative" agenda. Calling it a "classic courtroom drama," Lerner previously told Rolling Stone his film was really about "feminism on trial," and termed it "one of the stories of the decade."
