Jon Hamm—voted Baby Magazine’s World’s Handsomest Baby, in an article, competition, and magazine we just made up—has joined the cast of Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver. The project, which Wright started in on after he stepped down from working on Ant-Man, stars Ansel Elgort from The Fault In Our Stars as a getaway driver whose snappily edited antics lead to trouble from a criminal kingpin (probably played by Jamie Foxx). Lily James has also been cast, presumably as Elgort’s love interest, which leaves us wondering what role is left for Hamm to take on.
World-weary mentor? Fun-loving sidekick? Talking car? We’re hoping for that last one, both because Jon Hamm played a talking toilet once and it was completely fantastic, and also because we’re always kind of hoping for “talking car.” Smooth-voiced auto or no, Baby Driver is currently expected for a March 2017 release date.
