The Lego Movie is perhaps one of the most joyous creations to ever make it to this world fully formed, and a large part of that joy comes from Tegan And Sara’s exuberant “Everything Is Awesome.” The song represents every happy facet of the film it soundtracks.

And, as it turns out, if you slow it down, lower it by an octave or two and have a Sarah McLachlan wannabe sing, it has the exact opposite effect. Greenpeace has done just this with its new video, which intends to break up the partnership between oil-based toy manufacturer Lego and oil-providing oil company Shell. If a slowed down cover of “Everything Is Awesome” sounds depressing, just wait until a bunch of Lego people and animals are drowning in oil at the same time. It’s a lot of fun.
